Guess Where I'm Going!

Hi everyone! Today, the Maryellens are going somewhere with us and you have to guess where that somewhere is! Are you ready? Here's a hint.

This hint is from a 50's song on Maryellen's TV Console App.

"Sit down at the counter,
And you turn yourself around.
Wave to your friends, right and left,
And you drink that cola down. Do the ________ !
Do the _______ !"

Did that help you? I bet it did! :D
So, where is Maryellen going? Tell us in the comments!

Review - Maryellen's Accessories

My Mom bought Maryellen's accessories with the doll. I think we saved $5... :) Now, I'm going to do a review on them!

This set is priced at $24. I think it's worth $16. :)

First, we have the necklace. It is elastic and has a clasp like Grace's charm bracelet.

The necklace was actually very easy to get on the doll. I love the pearls!

There is a pearl bracelet to match the necklace. It's a slip-on bracelet made with elastic. There is not a clasp.

Maryellen's white gloves are made out of a soft material. There is lace on the ends and a small silk bow. One glove is extremely hard to get on, but the other fits fine. My sisters have the same problem with their gloves.

Last, we have her purse! The purse is made out of a stretchy fabric and has a knit pattern on it. It doesn't button or Velcro together, so be careful or her accessories might fall out! ;) The handle can be a challenge to get on her hand.

Overall, It's a cute set! I think the gloves and purse could have been made better.

I rate this 4 out of 5 stars!

Review - American Girl Maryellen Doll

Hi everyone! Today I'm reviewing American Girl's 18 inch Maryellen Doll! Let's get started.

Maryellen is a beautiful doll! I think her hair is one of her best features.

It's strawberry blond and very silky. At first, I was worried that her bangs would flip out and up like Grace's, but they don't. :)

Look how pretty and curly her ponytail is!

Maryellen comes with her hair in a high ponytail. It's secured with a clear rubber band, and then her blue hair bow is put around it.

Next, let's take look at her face. She has peachy skin with soft-colored lips. To me, her eyes are a very dark green, but AG says that they're hazel. Maryellen has feathery strawberry blonde eyebrows.

I was surprised when I first saw her neck. It's a little loose, unlike Grace's neck. Grace arrived in the mail too, but her neck was extremely tight.

Maryellen's dress is ADORABLE! It has pink, blue, and white stripes.

There are tiny ribbons that go around the waist and the top of the dress.

There is Velcro in the back.

Maryellen also arrives in a short sweater. It has a M monogrammed on it.

Super cute shoes! They're T strap and Velcro on the side.

My Maryellen doll has a rough hand. It feels like sandpaper. The other hand does not. But I guess that makes her special. :)

I love Maryellen! She looks so sweet and cute. I'm very blessed to have her.

I rate Maryellen 5 out of 5 stars!

Do you have Maryellen? We would love to see photos of her! You can send them to me americangirldollcrafter@gmail.com.

A review on her accessories will be posted soon!

The Perfect Party - Part 2

"Let's have a... Retro Party! It will be fun. We can dance to 50's music and eat 50's food! What do you think, everyone?"

"Grace, you're amazing! I think a retro party would be great!", exclaimed Maryellen. Then all the dolls started working on the party.

First, I hung up a sheet for Maryellen. "Thanks Mom! It's perfect!".

Grace began to arrange the food...

While McKenna set up the game table.

Kit and Ruthie were in charge of the decorations. Things got a little messy, as you can see. :) "Be careful with those scissors, Ruthie!". "I will, Mom."

Kaya didn't have anything to do, so she watched Isabelle as she selected songs for the party.

Millie taped posters on the wall...

And of course Lanie and Maryellen were there to oversee all the party decorations!

Then, everyone rushed back to the dollhouse to get dressed in the most retro-looking outfits they could find! When they returned, Maryellen shouted, ''Let the party begin!''. Kaya turned on the jukebox and began to dance.

Isabelle and McKenna were deciding on what game to play.

''This sure is cool, Lanie!'', said Maryellen. ''I know! I love the jukebox Mom made us!''

(I made this using a jukebox template I drew. Then I covered a cracker box with brown paper.)

''Ooh, I want a soda!''

Soon, the girls were hungry. A long line formed at the food table.

Everyone loved the tasty treats that Grace made!

''Even though we... couldn't go... swimming, this party was still... a lot of fun!'', said Maryellen, through big bites of her cookie.

''It has been fun! I hope we can do it again.'', replied Lanie.

THE END!

Did you like the story? I'm hoping to make more photo stories soon. :)

Meet Maryellen!

A girl in a candy stripe dress with strawberry blonde hair made her way up the stairs.

She was very excited, because today, she was meeting her new family!

I wonder what they'll be like? How many sisters will I have?

Meanwhile, everyone was upstairs, talking about their new sister.

"If she doesn't come soon, I'm going to get her myself!", said Lanie.

"Just wait a few more days. I'm sure she'll be here soon.", replied Grace with a smile.

The new girl peeked around the corner at her new family. She thought they looked nice, so she decided to walk in.

"Hello! I'm your new sister Maryellen!"
Everyone was so excited! Maryellen was finally here!

"OH MY GOODNESS!!! You're here! I can't believe it! We're going to be sisters!", screamed Lanie, trying to say everything at once. "I know! I'm so excited!"

"First, let me introduce myself. I am Maryellen Larkin, and I love to do things in my own special way. I like to stand out from the crowd and be different." Hello!", said all the dolls. Then the girls introduced themselves.

"This is your new room, Maryellen.", said Lanie pointing to the the bed and the wall.

Maryellen was in shock.
They made all of this for me? This is amazing! I'm speechless...

Maryellen sat on her bed. She opened her card and held the bouquet of roses that Lanie gave to her.
"Thank you all so much! I don't know what to say! I was a little nervous coming here at first. I've heard stories about dolls that go to families that only play with them once and then they're left on the shelf forever, but I'm so glad that you guys aren't like that."

"Mom would never do that.", said Kaya. "She plays with us all the time! It's a lot of fun."

"Really? That's the kind of mom I've been dreaming about!"

"I'm sure you'll like it here, Maryellen. We're glad to have you as our sister!", exclaimed Grace.

"Awwww, thanks everyone! I'm so excited and I can't wait for my new life to begin!"

THE END!

Maryellen actually came in on Thursday, but my sisters and I have been so busy playing that I haven't had time to post! Sorry about the blurry photos. We were so excited! :D Maryellen is a beautiful doll and I'm very blessed to have her. I would like to thank my Mom for surprising my sisters and I with her. You're the best Mom and I love you!

Stay tuned for a review on Maryellen!

Bonus Photos!
Maryellen came with her accessories and her first book. I'm almost done with it, so you can be sure that a review is on it's way!

After I finished taking photos, I wanted to take down Maryellen's hair. It was super curly after I curled it. I'm hoping to get Maryellen's hairstyling set. :)

Isn't it gorgeous?! The color is amazing. :)
